Express Raja, a romantic comedy thriller in the Telugu language, was released in 2016 and marks the directorial debut of Merlapaka Gandhi, who also penned the script. Produced by V. Vamsi Krishna Reddy and Pramod Uppalapati under the UV Creations banner, the film stars Sharwanand and Surbhi in the lead roles, supported by a cast that includes Harish Uthaman, Prabhas Sreenu, Sapthagiri, Urvashi, Supreeth, and Brahmaji. The film's soundtrack was created by Praveen Lakkaraju, while Karthik Ghattamaneni handled the cinematography. "Express Raja" made its worldwide debut on January 14, 2016, coinciding with the celebration of the Sankranthi festival.
